Dub Taylor aka Tigerskin has been shaping the deeper edges of house and techno since the early days — from landmark releases on Force Tracks, Raum...Musik and Dirt Crew to countless productions under his different aliases, and even a remix for Depeche Mode along the way. Fresh from the release of his brand-new Tigerskin album Image, he now turns the focus back to Dub Taylor with 24 To The Floor.
Four tracks of stripped-back dub techno pressure, minimal mechanics and pure dancefloor instinct. Heavy kicks, rubbery basslines, dry percussion and clouds of dub space do the talking — nothing wasted, nothing overworked, just decades of experience knowing exactly how little it takes to make a room move.
And then there is closing track Adornochrom, which throws in a few welcome surprises of its own, including live-recorded guitar woven into the machinery — a small flash of human unpredictability inside all that beautifully controlled repetition.
24 To The Floor is old-school minimalism with the engine still running hot: tough, hypnotic, playful and ridiculously effective.
Dub Taylor doing what Dub Taylor does best — straight to the floor.
